Alpesh Yoga’s distinctive yoga teacher training program training program is a Yoga Alliance approved residential and non-residential 200-hour curriculum.

Throughout the 20-day program, you will experience comprehensive engagement in both learning and teaching Therapeutic Yoga.

Our 200-hour YTTC will equip you with a robust yogic foundation and a comprehensive grasp of yoga anatomy, structural alignment of the physical body through asana practice, and the therapeutic benefits of alignment. You will also gain proficiency in the use of props.

This innovative program, crafted by Alpesh Patwari, introduces a fresh perspective on teacher training. With a primary focus on the healing aspects of yoga, Alpesh’s Therapeutic Alignment course educates students on how yoga can cater to individuals of all ages, health conditions, and physical abilities.

Throughout this training, you’ll acquire the skills to effectively guide your students in enhancing and refining their practice. You’ll learn that consistent and focused practice can enable students to surpass their perceived limitations.

Small class sizes ensure that our instructors can provide the personalized attention necessary for you to feel confident in teaching upon completion of your training.

Upon finishing your 200-hour training, you have the option to enroll in a supplementary 100-hour course, elevating your qualification to 300 hours. This extension involves an additional week of intensive study and practice, exclusively available to graduates of our 200-hour program. Please refer to our 300-hour page for further information.

200 Hour YTTC Course Objective

Yoga offers tremendous benefits for both the body and the mind. However, not every pose (asana) and breathing technique (pranayama) are universally suitable. As instructors, we must consider the age, health, and fitness levels of our students.

At Alpesh Yoga, in our distinctive program, you’ll discover how to factor in your students’ strengths and physical constraints, influencing their practice.

You’ll gain insights into how to address specific areas, ensure alignment, make adjustments, utilize props, and offer modifications to cater to all students, while acknowledging their unique variations and precautions.

In yoga, a precautionary note refers to a condition that could potentially cause discomfort or harm during certain asanas or pranayamas. It’s vital for instructors to recognize that while certain poses may benefit some, they could pose risks to others. At Alpesh Yoga, we recognize and respect the diversity of each individual’s body.

200 Hour YTTC Course Content

At Alpesh Yoga, our aim is to help our students discover their true yogic potential by introducing them to all aspects of yoga, meditation, and healing.

Here you will:

Develop your own personal daily practice of:

Asana (postures) - with emphasis on precision and alignment and an understanding of the sequence in which different groups of asana have to be performed

Pranayama (breathing)

Kriyas (cleansing)

Mudras (energy balancing)

Dhyana (Meditation)

Take part in back bending and flexibility workshops

Study the 8 Limbs of Yoga and behin to understand the wisdom of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and how to understand the teachings in a modern context.

Learn how to sequence and teach a 60-minute class

Understand the skeletal and muscular systems and how they affect your practice and your teaching

Align 50 yoga postures and understand the philosophy behind each one

Use alignment in these postures for therapytic benefit in relation to specific anatomy or conditions

Learn the art of Adjustments

Learn the importance of using props and to use a range of props including: blocks, bolsters, belts, chairs, and hanging straps

Understsnd how every asana or pranayama comes with it's own set of contraindications.

06:30-07:30: Self Practice (review and reinforce prior learning)

7.15 – 8.15: Pranayama / Meditation

8.15 – 8.30: Break

8.30 – 10.30: Asana practice with alignment and props

10.30 – 11.30: Breakfast

11.30 – 12.30: Anatomy and Alignment

12.30 – 13.30: The Art of Teaching

13.30 – 14.30: Philosophy

14.30 – 16.15: Snacks and rest

16.15 – 17.45: Afternoon Asana class

18.00 – 18.30: Dinner

19.00 – 21.00: Private study time

Each week, we will finish at 2pm on Saturday and have Sunday off to take a well-deserved break

Our Location

We have 2 school settings – so depending on the time of year (see our course dates ) you can study in Arambol, Goa or in Dharnakot (Dharamshala)

Both locations allow you space and time in nature for an energising, recharging and renewing experience

To secure your place, you will need to pay a non-refundable (but fully transferable) 30% deposit.

The balance must be paid in cash on arrival. Otherwise, we take transfers through Wise and credit cards are subject to a 4% charge. The cheapest way to pay is in cash.
