Who these eleven days are for
You practise regularly and you have started wondering what it would be like to teach. You are not ready to commit a full month and a full teacher-training fee to finding out. You have two to four weeks of holiday, you want warm weather and a beach ten minutes from the mat, and you do not want a school demanding a certificate you do not have. Eleven days is long enough to know whether teaching is something you actually want.
Before you apply
- No certificate, no prior training and no teaching experience needed. This course is open to complete beginners.
- A few months of regular classes helps. You will spend the eleven days refining rather than learning what a downward dog is.
- Enough general fitness to be on the mat for roughly four hours a day, split between a morning and an afternoon session.
- Tell us in your application about injuries, pregnancy, high blood pressure or recent surgery, so your practice is adapted from day one rather than day five.
Outcomes
What you’ll walk away with
- Hold the foundation postures with correct alignment rather than an approximation of it: sun salutations, standing poses, forward bends and twists
- Set up blocks, belts and bolsters for yourself, and change a posture to fit your proportions instead of forcing your body into the shape
- Run a 30 to 45 minute practice on your own, with no video and nobody counting for you
- Use the core breathing practices outside class, on a bad day, without a teacher in the room
- Recognise when a class you attend is not teaching alignment, and know what is missing
- Answer honestly whether you want to go on to a 200 hour training, based on eleven days of doing the work rather than imagining it

What graduates say
Completing the 200-hour yoga teacher training course has been a dream of mine for quite a few years now. The training was well structured, with a good balance between time in the classroom and time on the mat.

I’m so happy I completed my TTC with Alpesh. He’s an amazing teacher and practitioner whose classes are simply the best I’ve ever attended, on any continent. During the course, I sometimes asked myself if it was easy or difficult, and while the difficult aspect was there, it was purely physical. Learning from Alpesh and Rashmi about yoga was a privilege, and every minute at the school was so precious. The truth is, once you’re there, you feel at home and simply don’t want to leave :) I miss the school so much already, and I feel so, so grateful for the time there! ❤️Read on Google →

I had the privilege of completing my hatha Yoga Teacher Training with Alpesh five years ago, and it was an absolutely transformative experience. With joy and gratitude, I returned to yoga classes this year to once again learn from him. Alpesh is an exceptional teacher—deeply knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated to the principles of yoga. Moreover, during the classes, he creates a pleasant atmosphere where you can feel completely at ease. The training was comprehensive, with a strong emphasis on alignment, precision, and the philosophy of yoga. Alpesh provided personalized guidance, ensuring I grew not only in my practice but also in my ability to teach with confidence and clarity. I highly recommend Alpesh Yoga in Arambol to anyone seeking to deepen their practice or pursue teacher training in hatha yoga! Thank you again. With gratitude. EwaRead on Google →

I recently completed my yoga training with Alpesh Yoga Goa and had a great experience. It really felt like home. Alpesh is a wonderful teacher — a perfect mix of strict and soft — and his teaching is clear, knowledgeable, and straight to the point. The food was also delicious and very nourishing. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and well-structured yoga experience in Goa.Read on Google →

Alpesh is a very experienced and talented yoga teacher. I have been visiting Arambol for many winter holidays and attend Alpesh classes to improve and strengthen my yoga practice. The classes are very focused, alignment is key to get flow. After three weeks I leave much stronger with much improved posture (sternum up, shoulders back, courage). In Alpesh classes I have become good at headstands and other yoga poses I thought were outside of my reach. Its important for me to Listen to learn and I make an effort. (Mostly;) Alpesh yoga studio attracts good interesting people who are fun and supportive. A great environment to learn, grow, connect and have fun. Thank you Alpesh yoga school. I love the studio and energy. Sean LondonRead on Google →

I recently completed my ttc and am so happy i chose Alpeshyoga school. I was welcomed like in a family. The teachers are fantastic, the morning classes with Alpesh are the best i've ever taken. He manages to convey his deep understanding of alignments with extreme precision and passion. Maithily, the theory teacher, with her incredible knowledge and culture, was able to explain her lessons with extreme clarity, always making the class enjoyable and engaging. And finally, Rashmi, with her empathy and depth of soul... Made the evening practices a unique experience that i recommend to everyone. And the food prepared with love by two very sweet ladies... Amazing! For me, they were not just teachers but also true friends... This experience has brought profound changes to me. I thank them all and hope to join them soon for another journey together🙏Read on Google →

FAQ
Common questions
Yes. The 100 hour Alignment Yoga TTC is designed for beginners and enthusiasts who want a strong, safe foundation. Classes are small, the pace is progressive, and the alignment-and-props approach means every posture is adapted to your body rather than the other way around.
You receive an Alpesh Yoga 100 hour certificate from our Yoga Alliance registered school. It is a foundation course — a flexible first stage if you plan to complete your full 200 hour teacher training later, either with us or elsewhere.
Founder Alpesh Patwari has trained in the Iyengar tradition under Usha Devi in Rishikesh since 2006. The course teaches precise alignment, the use of props (blocks, belts, bolsters) and safe adjustments alongside traditional Hatha Alignment and Hatha Vinyasa Flow practice.
You choose: $400 covers the course only, or $600 includes your room near Arambol Beach and three vegetarian meals a day for the full 11 days. Traveling as a couple? It is $500 per person with stay ($1,000 total).
November is the start of Goa’s dry season — warm sunny days around 30°C with sea breezes and cooler evenings. Pack light cotton practice clothes, swimwear, sunscreen, a light layer for evenings and sandals. Mats and props are provided at the shala.
Apply online (it takes about 2 minutes, no payment required). We confirm availability within 24 hours and send a deposit link for 30% of your chosen course or retreat price; the balance is paid in cash or by transfer when you arrive. The deposit is transferable to any batch within 12 months.
Most nationalities can attend on a standard Indian tourist e-visa, which covers yoga courses at registered schools. Apply online at least 2–3 weeks before travel; message us on WhatsApp if you have questions about the process.
Choosing
Is this the right one for you?
Goa or Dharamshala?
The same 100 hours run in Dharamshala, but the weighting is different. Goa gives you more alignment and prop work, warm mornings, and an afternoon break you can swim through. Dharamshala gives you more breath and sitting practice, cold starts, and a village that is dark and quiet by six. Choose Goa if the physical craft is what you came for and you want a holiday around it.
100 hours, or a different level?
The 200 hour is the certificate studios ask for. This is not that. It is the honest first eleven days, at $400 instead of $700. If you already know you want to teach, book the 200 hour and skip this one. If you are not sure, this answers the question without asking you for three weeks and a career decision first.
