For the teacher going deeper than asana
The teacher this course is written for
You already teach, and asana has stopped being the interesting part. You want to go properly into pranayama, with ratios, bandhas and retention taught by someone watching you breathe. You want to read the source texts slowly instead of hearing them summarised. You want to be able to teach meditation and breath, not only postures. Four weeks in the mountains, long sits before dawn, a small circle, and RYT 500 at the end. Come rested.
Before you apply
- A completed 200 hour certificate from a Yoga Alliance registered school, ours or anyone else’s. Attach it to your application.
- A daily practice you can run unsupervised. The morning self-practice block is observed, not led.
- Tell us first about high blood pressure, heart conditions, glaucoma, retinal problems or pregnancy. Retention and bandha work is modified or withheld in those cases.
- The full 28 days, pre-dawn sittings included.
- Enough English to work through classical texts in open discussion.
Outcomes
What deepens, concretely
- Teach a pranayama class as a class in its own right, with ratio, retention and bandha work sequenced safely
- Lead a 60 minute meditation session, including what to do when a student becomes distressed
- Work directly with the classical texts and quote them accurately in your own teaching
- Judge when retention practice should be modified or withheld for a particular student, and say so out loud
- Build a course rather than a class: a six or eight week arc that takes a group somewhere
- Register your training toward RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance

What graduates say
Completing the 200-hour yoga teacher training course has been a dream of mine for quite a few years now. The training was well structured, with a good balance between time in the classroom and time on the mat.

I completed my 200-hour, 300-hour, and 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training Courses with Alpesh Yoga, and it has been one of the most valuable experiences in my yoga journey. I initially joined as a regular student seeking relief from back pain and sinus issues. As my practice progressed, I experienced significant improvement in both, which inspired me to deepen my understanding of yoga and eventually pursue the teacher training courses. Looking back, I am extremely happy that I made that decision. What sets Alpesh Sir apart is his genuine dedication to his students. He pays close attention to alignment, technique, and understanding, and patiently explains concepts until students gain clarity and confidence. His teaching style is thorough, practical, and easy to understand, making even complex yogic concepts accessible. Along with Alpesh Sir, his team has also been incredibly supportive and knowledgeable. Together, they create a learning environment that is welcoming, professional, and encouraging. Beyond the physical practice of yoga, Alpesh Sir shares valuable insights, experiences, and yogic wisdom that help students understand the deeper essence of yoga and how to apply it in daily life. The classes are not only educational but also inspiring, encouraging personal growth, self-awareness, and a deeper connection to the practice. The training provided me with a strong foundation that has helped me build and teach my own yoga classes with confidence. His depth of knowledge, attention to detail, authenticity, and passion for teaching make him an exceptional teacher and mentor. I am truly grateful for everything I learned through Alpesh Yoga and would highly recommend the training to anyone looking to deepen their practice, improve their health, or become a knowledgeable and confident yoga teacher.Read on Google →

I can’t say enough good things about my time with the team at Alpesh Yoga. Sometimes it’s hard to find a teacher who is both technically brilliant and genuinely kind, but that’s exactly what you get here. I appreciated how much individual attention we received; it made the whole experience feel very personal. I’m heading home feeling refreshed, inspired, and deeply grateful for the lessons I learned on the mat. Whether you’re a beginner or a teacher, you’ll find something special here.Read on Google →

FAQ
Common questions
Certified 200 hour yoga teachers (from any Yoga Alliance registered school) who want to deepen their knowledge, refine their teaching skills and gain confidence as professional instructors.
Yes. Our 300 hour Yoga Alliance certified program, stacked on your existing 200 hour certificate, completes the training requirement for registering as RYT 500.
Advanced asanas, applied anatomy, refined alignment, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy, sequencing and practical teaching methodology — combining traditional yogic wisdom with modern teaching techniques.
$850 covers tuition only. $1,400 adds accommodation in Bhagsu and three vegetarian meals daily — for the full four-week training in the Himalayas.
The peaceful Himalayan environment of Dharamshala is ideal for the depth this course demands — clear mountain air, quiet forest surroundings and a long tradition of yoga and meditation study in the McLeod Ganj area.
Six full training days a week: morning pranayama and advanced asana practice, afternoon philosophy, anatomy and methodology sessions, evening practice and meditation. Come rested and ready to work deeply.
Apply online with your 200 hour certification details. After we confirm availability (within 24 hours), reserve with a 30% deposit — transferable to any future batch within 12 months — and pay the balance on arrival.
Choosing
Is this the right one for you?
Dharamshala or Goa?
Same hours, same RYT 500 path, different weighting. Our Goa 300 hour spends its afternoons on adjustments, sequencing and the business of teaching. This one spends them on breath, text and meditation, with a sitting practice before dawn and a self-practice block that is observed rather than led. Choose this if the part of your teaching you want to grow is the part that is not asana.
300 hours, or a different level?
The 200 hour covers a handful of pranayama techniques and philosophy in overview. Here, retention, ratio and bandha work is practised daily under supervision and the texts are read closely rather than summarised. It is not open to you without a 200 hour certificate, and it is the wrong course if you are still building a daily practice.
