For the career-changer who wants a cohort

Who this training is built for

You want the qualification studios actually ask for, and you want to earn it somewhere warm. You are changing direction: leaving a job, or adding teaching alongside one. You want a full group around you, people to practise with and to complain to over brunch, and something to do when the training day ends. Twenty-two days, an RYT 200 path at the end of it, and a beach you can swim at every afternoon.

Before you apply

  • No prior certification. Beginners are accepted on every batch and the course builds from the foundations up.
  • A few months of regular practice before you arrive makes 22 days considerably easier than starting cold.
  • Availability for the whole course. The certificate depends on the contact hours, so we cannot certify a partial attendance.
  • Physical readiness for two asana practices a day, six days a week, for three weeks.
  • Enough English to follow lectures, practise cueing out loud and complete the written and practical assessment.

Outcomes

What you’ll be qualified to do

  • Plan and teach a full 60 to 90 minute Hatha or Vinyasa class from a sequence you built, not a script you memorised
  • Cue clearly with your voice, demonstrate cleanly, and adjust with your hands without startling the person on the mat
  • Adapt every foundation posture on the spot for a stiff body, a sore shoulder or someone who has never been on a mat
  • Teach pranayama and a short closing meditation as part of a class, rather than as filler
  • Explain the eight limbs and the relevant anatomy in plain language when a student asks
  • Register as RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance and teach anywhere in the world

What graduates say

Completing the 200-hour yoga teacher training course has been a dream of mine for quite a few years now. The training was well structured, with a good balance between time in the classroom and time on the mat.

I’m so happy I completed my TTC with Alpesh. He’s an amazing teacher and practitioner whose classes are simply the best I’ve ever attended, on any continent. During the course, I sometimes asked myself if it was easy or difficult, and while the difficult aspect was there, it was purely physical. Learning from Alpesh and Rashmi about yoga was a privilege, and every minute at the school was so precious. The truth is, once you’re there, you feel at home and simply don’t want to leave :) I miss the school so much already, and I feel so, so grateful for the time there! ❤️

I had the privilege of completing my hatha Yoga Teacher Training with Alpesh five years ago, and it was an absolutely transformative experience. With joy and gratitude, I returned to yoga classes this year to once again learn from him. Alpesh is an exceptional teacher—deeply knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated to the principles of yoga. Moreover, during the classes, he creates a pleasant atmosphere where you can feel completely at ease. The training was comprehensive, with a strong emphasis on alignment, precision, and the philosophy of yoga. Alpesh provided personalized guidance, ensuring I grew not only in my practice but also in my ability to teach with confidence and clarity. I highly recommend Alpesh Yoga in Arambol to anyone seeking to deepen their practice or pursue teacher training in hatha yoga! Thank you again. With gratitude. Ewa

I recently completed my yoga training with Alpesh Yoga Goa and had a great experience. It really felt like home. Alpesh is a wonderful teacher — a perfect mix of strict and soft — and his teaching is clear, knowledgeable, and straight to the point. The food was also delicious and very nourishing. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and well-structured yoga experience in Goa.

Alpesh is a very experienced and talented yoga teacher. I have been visiting Arambol for many winter holidays and attend Alpesh classes to improve and strengthen my yoga practice. The classes are very focused, alignment is key to get flow. After three weeks I leave much stronger with much improved posture (sternum up, shoulders back, courage). In Alpesh classes I have become good at headstands and other yoga poses I thought were outside of my reach. Its important for me to Listen to learn and I make an effort. (Mostly;) Alpesh yoga studio attracts good interesting people who are fun and supportive. A great environment to learn, grow, connect and have fun. Thank you Alpesh yoga school. I love the studio and energy. Sean London

I recently completed my ttc and am so happy i chose Alpeshyoga school. I was welcomed like in a family. The teachers are fantastic, the morning classes with Alpesh are the best i've ever taken. He manages to convey his deep understanding of alignments with extreme precision and passion. Maithily, the theory teacher, with her incredible knowledge and culture, was able to explain her lessons with extreme clarity, always making the class enjoyable and engaging. And finally, Rashmi, with her empathy and depth of soul... Made the evening practices a unique experience that i recommend to everyone. And the food prepared with love by two very sweet ladies... Amazing! For me, they were not just teachers but also true friends... This experience has brought profound changes to me. I thank them all and hope to join them soon for another journey together🙏

FAQ

Common questions

  • Yes — the course is designed for beginners as well as practitioners deepening their practice. You do not need to be flexible or able to do advanced poses; you need commitment and curiosity. Our alignment-based method meets every body where it is.

  • Yes. Alpesh Yoga is a Yoga Alliance registered school, and graduates of the 200 hour course can register as RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance and teach yoga anywhere in the world. Our graduates teach internationally and cite the school as their certifying credential.

  • Traditional Hatha Alignment and Hatha Vinyasa Flow form the core practice, taught through our precise alignment method, plus pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy, anatomy and teaching methodology — a genuinely multi-style training.

  • $700 covers the full 22-day course, manual, props and certification. $1,100 adds your room near Arambol Beach and three vegetarian meals a day for the whole course. Traveling as a couple? It is $950 per person with stay ($1,900 total). Flights and visa are not included.

  • We keep batches small (around 15 seats) so you get personal guidance and hands-on adjustments every day — one of the main reasons students choose us over larger schools.

  • Arambol is a long-established traveler village and most of our students arrive solo, many of them women. You train and stay within a small residential group, the shala is minutes from the accommodation, and our team is reachable on WhatsApp throughout.

  • Reserve with a 30% deposit after we confirm your seat; the balance is due on arrival. The deposit is not refundable but is fully transferable to any future batch within 12 months if your plans change.

  • December to March is Goa’s best season — dry, sunny days around 25–32°C, ideal for morning beach practice. Bring light practice clothes, swimwear, sunscreen and one warmer layer for evenings.

Choosing

Is this the right one for you?

Goa or Dharamshala?

Identical certification, opposite atmosphere. Goa is the larger, more social batch. You finish the day on the beach with the people you trained with, and December to March is dry and warm. Dharamshala is the quiet one: earlier mornings, silent breakfasts, real cold. Pick Goa if being around people is part of how you learn.

200 hours, or a different level?

The 100 hour is a foundation, not a teaching qualification, and it has no practicum or assessment. The 300 hour only opens once you already hold a 200. This is the one that makes you a teacher: 22 days, supervised practice teaching, a written and practical assessment, and the RYT 200 path at the end.

Ready when you are

Train as a yoga teacher in Goa

Batches run December to March and groups stay small. Applying takes about two minutes and requires no payment. We confirm within 24 hours, then a 30% deposit holds your place, transferable to any batch within 12 months.
