For the career-changer who wants seclusion

Who chooses the mountain training

You want the same RYT 200 certificate, and you want to earn it somewhere with nothing to do in the evenings. A beach scene and a row of cafés would pull you out of the work, and you know it. You would rather wake at quarter to six, practise in the cold, eat breakfast without talking and be asleep by nine for twenty-two days. The Himalayas drew you here, and so did the Tibetan life around McLeod Ganj.

Before you apply

  • No prior certification needed. The course builds from foundations and beginners are accepted on every batch.
  • The full 22 days, assessment included. We cannot certify a partial attendance.
  • Warm clothing and an honest tolerance for cold. The December to February batches are genuinely cold, and higher elevations can see snow.
  • Comfort with a quiet routine: silent breakfasts, early nights, and no nightlife within walking distance.
  • Enough English to follow philosophy lectures and complete the written and practical assessment.

Outcomes

What you’ll be able to do at the end

  • Plan and teach a full-length class, and hold the room together when it does not go the way you planned
  • Sequence across Hatha, Vinyasa and restorative practice, and judge which one the group in front of you actually needs
  • Teach pranayama and yoga nidra as practices in their own right, with the contraindications understood
  • Ground what you teach in the classical texts rather than in the last workshop you happened to attend
  • Keep your own practice alive at home, once nobody is ringing a bell at 05:45
  • Register as RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance and teach anywhere in the world

What graduates say

Completing the 200-hour yoga teacher training course has been a dream of mine for quite a few years now. The training was well structured, with a good balance between time in the classroom and time on the mat.

I completed my 200-hour, 300-hour, and 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training Courses with Alpesh Yoga, and it has been one of the most valuable experiences in my yoga journey. I initially joined as a regular student seeking relief from back pain and sinus issues. As my practice progressed, I experienced significant improvement in both, which inspired me to deepen my understanding of yoga and eventually pursue the teacher training courses. Looking back, I am extremely happy that I made that decision. What sets Alpesh Sir apart is his genuine dedication to his students. He pays close attention to alignment, technique, and understanding, and patiently explains concepts until students gain clarity and confidence. His teaching style is thorough, practical, and easy to understand, making even complex yogic concepts accessible. Along with Alpesh Sir, his team has also been incredibly supportive and knowledgeable. Together, they create a learning environment that is welcoming, professional, and encouraging. Beyond the physical practice of yoga, Alpesh Sir shares valuable insights, experiences, and yogic wisdom that help students understand the deeper essence of yoga and how to apply it in daily life. The classes are not only educational but also inspiring, encouraging personal growth, self-awareness, and a deeper connection to the practice. The training provided me with a strong foundation that has helped me build and teach my own yoga classes with confidence. His depth of knowledge, attention to detail, authenticity, and passion for teaching make him an exceptional teacher and mentor. I am truly grateful for everything I learned through Alpesh Yoga and would highly recommend the training to anyone looking to deepen their practice, improve their health, or become a knowledgeable and confident yoga teacher.

I can’t say enough good things about my time with the team at Alpesh Yoga. Sometimes it’s hard to find a teacher who is both technically brilliant and genuinely kind, but that’s exactly what you get here. I appreciated how much individual attention we received; it made the whole experience feel very personal. I’m heading home feeling refreshed, inspired, and deeply grateful for the lessons I learned on the mat. Whether you’re a beginner or a teacher, you’ll find something special here.

The place is really great! I love Alpesh’s classes , they are so nice and they helped me deepen my practice so much! If you are someone who really wants to work on yourself I think this is the place for it . The best part is they are in both mountains and beach cities so it’s a true blessing learning and being there around the lovely environment:)

FAQ

Common questions

  • Yes. The 200 hour course is designed for beginners as well as aspiring teachers. The program builds progressively from foundations, and small groups mean our teachers can adapt every practice to your level.

  • Yes — on successful completion you receive a Yoga Alliance USA recognized 200 hour certification (RYT 200 path), which lets you register with Yoga Alliance and teach internationally.

  • $700 covers tuition, manual, props and certification. $1,100 adds your room in Bhagsu with three vegetarian meals a day for the full course. Traveling as a couple? It is $950 per person with stay ($1,900 total). Flights and visa are not included.

  • An immersive multi-style program: Hatha Alignment, Hatha Vinyasa Flow, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, philosophy and teaching methodology — traditional yogic wisdom taught with modern teaching methods.

  • The school sits in Upper Bhagsu above McLeod Ganj, surrounded by deodar forest and Himalayan peaks — a quiet, focused environment minutes from the cafes and walking trails of the Dharamkot/Bhagsu area.

  • Dharamkot is one of India’s most established traveler villages, and most students come alone. You live and train with a small residential group, and our team is available on WhatsApp throughout your stay.

  • Five batches run across the 2026/27 season: 21 Nov – 12 Dec 2026, 16 Dec 2026 – 6 Jan 2027, 21 Jan – 11 Feb 2027, 18 Feb – 11 Mar 2027, and 9 – 30 Mar 2027. Apply online, we confirm your seat within 24 hours, and you reserve with a 30% deposit — transferable to any batch within 12 months.

  • Layers: warm evening clothing (fleece/down jacket), comfortable practice wear, a reusable water bottle, walking shoes and a headlamp for village paths. Days start mild and get colder as the season goes on, with a chance of snow at higher elevations in January–February.

Choosing

Is this the right one for you?

Dharamshala or Goa?

Same syllabus, same certificate, a completely different month of your life. Arambol gives you a beach, an evening scene and a bigger group. Bhagsu gives you deodar forest, a quarter-to-six start, breakfast without conversation, and the monasteries of McLeod Ganj twenty minutes downhill. Choose this one if you already know a social setting would cost you the training.

200 hours, or a different level?

Eleven days at the 100 hour level gives you the practice but not the qualification, and skips the practicum and the assessment entirely. The 300 hour needs a 200 first. This is the training that leaves you able to plan and teach a class on your own, and eligible to register as RYT 200.

Ready when you are

Take your RYT 200 in the Himalayas

Five batches run between November 2026 and March 2027. Apply online, we confirm your seat within 24 hours, and a 30% deposit holds it. The balance is paid on arrival and the deposit transfers to any batch within 12 months.

Style & approach

A multi-style yoga teacher training: Hatha Alignment and Hatha Vinyasa Flow

The 200-hour curriculum stays multi-style for all 22 days: daily Hatha asana practice, an evening Hatha Vinyasa Flow session, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, anatomy and teaching methodology — so you graduate confident teaching more than a single lineage.

It’s this multi-style breadth across Hatha Alignment and Hatha Vinyasa Flow — not a single-style focus — that this Yoga Alliance RYT 200 course is built on.
